On the 16th day of May, Gucci took to the 14th-century Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul for its 2024 collection.
Moreover, Since its original construction in 1395, the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul has entertained Korean royalties.
It also has been a portrait of architecture and art, which is a symbol of the capital’s history.
Also, Having hosted many great events in this space, this is the first fashion show being hosted at TheGyeongbokgung Palace.
“From fashion and beauty to music and art. The worldwide impact of contemporary South Korean culture is a shining example of the global connectivity that drives Gucci every day. The collection pays homage to this impact, and on a broader scale, to the way our wardrobes interact across continents today.”
The presentation’s “South Korean” theme was intentionally by the in-house Team.
“The constellations illuminate a study of the global urban wardrobe. Invigorated by the inimitable instinct for fashion expressed on the streets of Seoul . And echoed across the globe, and the customs of South Korean dress,” reads the press release just before the presentation.
However, The runway had a touch of Gucci’s former creative designer Alessandro Michele’s perfect art of merging aesthetics, which Gucci calls “hybridization”.
Furthermore, Models like Karen Elson, Tasha Tilberg, and Sara Choi . Graced the runway in full representation of the South Korean-themed walk.
Also, Sculptural lines inform A-line dresses and diverse styles featuring silk bands with bows, drawing inspiration from traditional local outfit.
Additionally, The runway was filled with interesting elements. From playful jackets, hoodies, shorts, and sportswear, to diverse styles of dresses, bows, and 2 pieces.
“Bourgeois ‘streetwear’ — the bouclé skirt suit, the silk blouse, the kitten heel — splices with sportswear informed by everyday life in Seoul, the scuba wetsuits worn by the fervent windsurfers and jet-skiers of the Han River,” says the press release
Lastly, To crown it all, some colorful Gucci bags, glasses, and other accessories were updated and re-introduced in this collection.
