Runway Coterie took centre stage at Entertainment Week Africa 2025. Unveiling 20 designers in a landmark fashion showcase at Livespot Entertarium. The high-impact runway presentation showcased the power of African creativity, merging fashion, culture, and entertainment into one dynamic experience.

The Runway Coterie at the Heart of Entertainment Week Africa’s Evolution
As Entertainment Week Africa (formerly Entertainment Week Lagos) continues to evolve, the fashion arm of the festival returned with renewed purpose and vision. This year’s runway was crafted as a strategic platform to spotlight next-generation African designers and deepen the festival’s commitment to industry development.
A key pillar of EWA’s mission to “Close the Gap” enables the Runway Coterie to connect rising and established talent, creating opportunities for mentorship, investment, collaboration and global visibility.

20 Designers, 9 Emerging Voices and a Bold Vision of African Style
From over 120 entries received, 9 emerging designers were selected for this year’s Coterie. Creating a wider lineup of 20 designers who took over the runway with bold, contemporary looks.

Designers, including Korede James, Dust of the Earth, Nex by Necca, Josh Amor, PK Crochet, Estaz, David Black, Bernard Samuel and Sevon Dejana showcased forward-thinking collections that celebrated:
- Innovative silhouettes
- Thoughtful craftsmanship
- Sustainability-led practices

Their presentations offered fresh interpretations of modern African fashion. Cementing the Runway Coterie as one of the standout fashion moments of Entertainment Week Africa 2025.

Nurturing Next-Generation African Designers
As part of EWA’s long-term creative development mandate, the 9 emerging designers featured on the runway are now moving into the next phase of structured support. This includes:
- Targeted mentorship with key industry leaders and fashion professionals
- A guaranteed platform at EWA 2026, ensuring continuity, growth and regional visibility
Through this development pipeline, The Runway Coterie is designed not just as a runway show, but as an engine for talent discovery, capacity building and sustainable industry impact.
A Fashion-Forward Crowd and Immersive Brand Experiences
This year’s showcase drew a vibrant mix of:
- Fashion editors and journalists
