The daughter of the billionaire Femi Otedola earlier announcedon the 3rd of April, her partnership with Oxford university Scholars fund for Africans.
The Cuppy Africa Oxford Scholars Fund intends to support exceptional African graduates to meet unexpected financial costs and enable them to access the necessary skills, resources, and networks to maximize their impact across Africa and beyond.
“This £100,000 gift is in support of African Graduate students. It aims to support future leaders from the continent by enabling them to access the necessary skills, resources, and networks to maximize their impact. Over the next year, I hope to support those in their education journeys and reach their full potential during their time at Oxford and beyond 
#CuppyCares” She said.
As, Dj Cuppy, like her father, has donated to several foundations and communities for a better Africa and beyond.
This is such great news for African scholars looking forward to applying for the Oxford Scholarship.

]]>women and young girls worldwide, particularly in developing countries. In Nigeria alone, about 37 million women and girls of reproductive age lack access to menstrual hygiene products due to high costs and inadequate policies.
According to a survey conducted by Pishon Health, 91.3% of women think that period
products are high in price, and 52.17% say that cost influences their purchase and use of sanitary pads. This underscores the need for policies that prioritise menstrual health and hygiene, such as the 7.5% value-added tax-free policy on locally made sanitary pads that was signed by the current Nigerian president in 2020. However, more needs to be done to overcome import and sales taxes and promote grassroots education and advocacy.
Particularly, Period poverty affects women and young girls in a broad variety of ways. For young girls in Nigeria, there’s been millions of cases of poor concentration, absenteeism and drop out.
There’s also a prevalent increase in cases of infection from unhygienic period products and practices among women and girls alike. It is crucial that we work together to promote and develop policies that encourage local production of period products, increase access of all women to these products, and fortify menstrual hygiene education at grassroots.
Pishon Health raises awareness about period poverty and promoting period equity. We believe that by eliminating taxes on menstrual products, promoting local production, and distributing products for free in schools and public spaces, we can make these products more affordable and accessible to all. We call on policymakers, private sector, NGOs, advocacy groups, and international organisations to join us in prioritising menstrual health and hygiene, and in making period equity a reality for all.

]]>Honestly, the educational foundation we receive goes a long way to determine how well we perform academically and socially. Bovi has re-emphasized this fact by saying that he had always attributed all his present success and accomplishments to the training he received from his primary school.
Bovi’s reason for renovating the school
In a post he made on his official Instagram page, Bovi pointed out that he was pained when he saw the dilapidated state of his alma mater. This made him dedicate three months to completely transforming the school.
In his words, “Those who know me well know how I have always given credit to my primary school for what I have become. I consider my foundational path fortunate because I had the best teachers on my route from kindergarten to primary 5. They were so good that I remember all of them by name to this day.
“It was a prestigious institution sitting on a hectare of land. That’s triple the size of many learning institutions today. It was a school with international standards that only a few private schools can boast of today. “So you can imagine my sadness when I visited the institution and saw the degenerative state of the facilities. I broke inside. Hence I spent the last three months painstakingly seeing the renovation of the 20 classroom block, 2 staff rooms, and 1 library. In this building, I spent my final years (primaries 4 and 5).”
He thanked the Deputy Governor of Edo State for showing up for the commissioning of the renovated school. He also appreciated the presence of the vice-chancellor of the University of Benin. In the same light, fellow celebrities have also taken to social media to praise Bovi for his philanthropic service to his alma mater.
