The Milky Way, is a six track Ep which gives listeners the feel of the new sound Afropop/Afrodrill, which originated in Africa. This Ep tells a story of a young gifted individual who dreams & aspirations is to travel the world with his music, energy & struggles. Cool8 tells a story which many young people go through in today’s society, his vibrant energy can be felt throughout the entire Ep, with each song filled with passion.
WHO IS COOL8?
My name is Imaku Toju also known as Cool8. I’m a Nigerian singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist. Cool8 is a conscious and commercial artist that has clung to music in order to escape the hubbub of his environment. I started from the the choir of my local church and ever since my love for music and grown stronger. Inspired by the soothing melodies of J Moss and Tye Tribbett to the lively sounds of Chris Brown, Burna Boy, Wande Coal, and Kehlani, for me the composition of melodies and rhythm allows me to connect with a higher realm of existence and my Ep The Milky Way is a documentation of my journey, emotion and experiences so far.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM COOL8
Well I like to think that I am on a journey and I’m looking forward to taking as much people with me so expect more uplifting and conscious music from me in the coming years. Also looking forward to collaborating with other artistes and creating magic.
