Style Connaisseur means a person who is an expert in style and of course, a person with great taste.
How did you turn your passion into a real job?
I quit my day job last year to focus on Style Influencing full time. Asides from the fact it pays more, I just felt it was time to focus on what I am really good at and what I enjoyed. I could only have achieved having my passion as a real job by putting in the work and handling it like I did my 9 -5 with professionalism, efficiency and dedication.
Why are you passionate about Fashion?
Not sure exactly. I guess Fashion for has to be one of those things you loved as a child and ensured to make a career out of it. Obviously in the era of social media and technology, pursuing a career has been made a whole lot easier.
How do you stay up to date regarding fashion?
With all of my top fashion pages from Vogue to Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Cosmo, staying up to date in fashion can seldom be an issue.
As a style Influencer, what are the challenges you face, working with fashion designers?
I am not sure my challenges lie with the designers I work with. My business is pretty simple and straight forward. There are fixed rates and it is either you can afford it or not. So my challenges do not lie with my designers.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style tilts towards the elegant, chic & classy side of fashion.
How influential are fashion weeks today?
Fashion Weeks are highly influential to Fashion enthusiasts. It is the one gathering where you can express your love for fashion in the company of like minds, enjoy fashion showcases, check out top pieces for the new season, engage in fashion conversations, I mean, fashion shows are uber important and necessary in Today’s world.
What do you look out for when selecting PR partners?
I personally love working with PR companies who are creative, innovative and generally easy to work with. I pride myself in being super easy to work with, attentive and cooperative. So more often than not, I look for the same attributes in my clients.
How do you handle stress?
Honestly, I take breaks and interact with people less. Watch a movie, go to the beach, basically just interact less with people, find clarity and peace.
What would you say, being a fashion creative has helped you achieve?
I guess it has helped me socialize more. Also, I am thankful I get to live my dream doing what I love.
How do you perceive the African fashion industry especially Nigeria in the next 5years?
The Nigerian fashion scene is one of the most advanced if not the most advanced in the continent so growth is something she constantly experiences. 5 years from now, she(Lagos) would most definitely be among the top tier fashion capitals in the world.
