FashionEVO, a leading platform championing African fashion innovation and sustainable development, is proud to announce its official partnership with Fashion Connect Africa (FCA) for the highly anticipated FashionEVO Summit & Show 2025, scheduled for September 18, 2025, at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, during the 4th edition of the Africa Creative Market (ACM).
This game-changing collaboration was formally introduced during a press launch at the Polo Club in Accra, Ghana, solidifying a strategic alliance aimed at strengthening creative and economic ties between Ghana and Nigeria within the African fashion industry.
A Milestone for African Fashion Development
The announcement was highlighted by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Dr. Yetty Ogunnubi, Founder and CEO of FashionEVO, and Victoria Michaels, Founder and CEO of Fashion Connect Africa. This strategic partnership underscores a shared commitment to youth empowerment, sustainable fashion, and cross-border creative exchange in West Africa.
“We are not merely collaborating for a single event; we are laying the foundation for a long-term ecosystem of opportunity,” said Dr. Yetty Ogunnubi. “The FashionEVO Summit & Show will spotlight African creativity while driving education, visibility, and ethical fashion practices.”
Victoria Michaels added, “This partnership is purpose-driven. Together, we’re unlocking access to hidden talent across Nigeria and Ghana, focusing on empowerment, legacy, and reshaping the narrative of African fashion globally.”
Launch of the FCA ‘Seed to Stage’ Initiative
A key highlight of the event was the unveiling of FCA’s flagship program, ‘Seed to Stage’—an innovative talent development initiative designed to identify, train, and empower emerging fashion designers from underserved communities in Africa.
The program’s first beneficiary, Lydia Okine, received a six-month fashion design scholarship, digital sewing machines, workspace rent support, and a showcase opportunity at the GUBA Trade and Investment Forum in Barbados.
“Lydia’s journey is proof of the extraordinary talent in unexpected places,” said Victoria Michaels. “Seed to Stage aims to spotlight and uplift these voices, giving them the tools to thrive.”
As part of the FashionEVO x FCA partnership, the 2025 FashionEVO Summit & Show will feature a ‘Seed to Stage’ runway segment, highlighting five emerging designers—two from Ghana and three from Nigeria. These creatives will present capsule collections centered on Afro-street style, cultural storytelling, and eco-conscious fashion. Designers will also gain access to post-show mentorship, funding opportunities, and visibility among international buyers and media.
