The Africa Creative Market stands out as a premier event, uniting key stakeholders and experts in the African creative industry. This platform not only fosters the exchange of ideas but also cultivates valuable partnerships to train and empower African creatives.
In its inaugural 2022 event spanning from August to September, the Africa Creative Market drew over 10,000 attendees during the vibrant six-day affair. The occasion featured significant gatherings such as the Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI) Summit, along with the participation of various creative bodies across Africa.
Fast forward to 2023, the event continued its commitment to supporting creatives through a series of workshops and training sessions. Highlights included a two-day workshop for music artists featuring Yinkadavies, Made Kuti, and Taiwo Ajai-Lycet. Furthermore, an Intellectual Property (IP) lawyer and former Special Assistant to HM Finance emphasized the role of IP enforcement in fostering sustainable development within the Nigerian creative sector.
The body has garnered support from esteemed international entities, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the U.S. Consulate Lagos, WIFT Chapters worldwide, MTVBase, the Swedish Embassy, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and more.
