Medizone made history on April 4, 2026, hosting Nigeria’s first Advanced Aesthetic Technology Symposium.
The event was The Aesthetics Show Lagos 2026. Held at The Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos, the event marked a major milestone for aesthetic medicine in Africa.

The UK-based healthcare provider focuses on proactive and preventative care, bringing together medical professionals, innovators, and tastemakers.
The event redefines the future of aesthetic medicine in Nigeria and across Africa.
Advanced Aesthetic Technologies Take Centre Stage
The event opened with an exclusive scientific session tailored for medical professionals. Over 70 clinicians, dermatologists, and practitioners from Nigeria and abroad engaged with cutting-edge aesthetic technologies. This includes Lumenis, Sofwave, UltraClear, Wonder, Hydrafacial, Classys, Fotofinder, Opatra London, and Mirapeel.

Experts provided in-depth insights into the science and clinical applications of a wide range of treatments, including laser hair removal, body sculpting, muscle toning, skin rejuvenation, acne treatment, wrinkle and fine-line reduction, neck lifting, collagen stimulation, and anti-ageing solutions.
This hands-on, clinically driven education offered attendees access to global best practices without the need to travel to international conferences. The session concluded with a raffle, during which winners received premium skin treatments valued at up to $3,600.

Bridging Medicine, Innovation, and Pop Culture
As the day transitioned into an evening cocktail reception, the event expanded beyond the medical community. Notable personalities, including Genevieve Nnaji, Daddy Freeze, and Eku Edewor, were in attendance. The event highlighted the growing mainstream acceptance of aesthetic medicine in Nigeria.

Their presence underscored how conversations around beauty, wellness, and non-invasive treatments are increasingly shaping modern lifestyle culture.
Industry Leaders Emphasize Ethics and Growth
Speaking at the symposium, Dr. Hamza Arisekola Alao, Chief Executive Officer of Medizone, emphasized the importance of ethical practice in a rapidly growing industry. He noted that patient care must always take precedence over commercial interests and called for stronger governance as the sector expands across Africa.

He urged practitioners to prioritise clinical excellence, evidence-based treatments, and uncompromising patient safety as the foundation for sustainable growth in aesthetic medicine.
Freda Edewor Francis, Director of Medizone and Founder/CEO of Oasis Medspa, reflected on the industry’s evolution in Nigeria. She highlighted the increasing demand for aesthetic treatments and the need for infrastructure to match this growth, positioning the symposium as a turning point for the sector.
