“BorderlesTrade” is the ultimate guide for the average entrepreneur looking to be more, as the writer through her firsthand experience in the world of exporting, takes the reader through the simple steps required to start exporting. The book goes through the A-Z of exporting about anything out of Africa.

Get into the thought process of the writer and learn more about the book from our interview with her:

1. Hi, kindly introduce yourself, your brand and share a little about your background.

Africa, Social Impact, Apparel.

These 3 words best describes what is top of mind for Olori as an individual. Olori is an alumni of the U.S State Dept. 2018 International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). Olori Boye-Ajayi is the Founder of The KATIE WANG Company, a growing global Fashion trading company with operations currently in the U.K., Europe, Australia and the US. At its core, The vision of the company is to link talented fashion suppliers and manufacturers from Nigeria and other parts of Africa to global opportunities improving their lives and their communities multiple stitches at a time.

Olori has been listed as one of the ‘Top 100 Female Entrepreneurs in Nigeria’ for her contribution to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nigeria and her support to the youths in Nigeria has been recognized by the U.S Consulate, Lagos where she has also had the privilege of sharing her knowledge in Fashion exportation.

Olori is set to pioneer, a new but much needed turn for the Fashion industry in Nigeria and Africa at large in quality assurance and supply chain. She believes strongly in Nigeria, but more so in the women and young people of Nigeria.

2. How long have you been a writer?

I can’t tell how long I have been  writing but I just recently launched the first edition of Bordeless Trade and it took me a couple of months to write this book to guide anyone considering exporting now and in future .

3. How many books have you written?

So far I have just written my first edition of the borderless trade and there is more to come.

4. What do you think makes a good story?

What I think makes a good story is my journey so far and all the times I made lots of mistakes while exporting and it has made me write a book on my own to show others a pathway void of errors.

5. How long does it take to write a book?

It takes as long as the story fills the mind and the words to placate them for the right audience you want to share it with. I can’t give you a specific duration.

Olori Boye-Ajayi

6. Can you tell us a little about your new book “The Bordeless Trade” and the inspiration behind it?

This book is for anyone new to exporting and not sure where to start? That was me a few years ago when I desired to export the items my manufacturers had produced. I went the long route and made some mistakes, some of which I don’t regret because now I can share them with you so you don’t have to make them and you can start exporting the right way. I have tried many business ideas in my little life but export completely changed the game. You can export on a domestic or international level; you pretty much determine how big you want to play in the global market. This step-by-step guide will leave you rushing to carry out the steps because its export is simplified. It’s time for the world to see what you can offer, stop holding back because you don’t know how to start – the “how” is in this easy to read-and-adopt guide in your hands. Start exporting with the confidence needed today!

7. As a writer, what are the challenges you face in publishing?

The challenges so far is Maintaining a legacy business while simultaneously building a new business. This goes beyond just the (considerable) problems and expense of maintaining print while creating an online platform. The new publishing business may in fact turn out to be multiple businesses, and it’s not at all clear what those will be and also Lack of respect and appreciation for what publishers do beyond simply adding value to content and making it available.

8. What do you do apart from writing?

I am the founder of Katie wang Company, a mentor/ coach at the ark coaching company and I’m also a part of the U S consulate

9. How has the writing industry and the literacy world helped our present society and what would you say being a writer has helped you achieve?

I remember when I used to read books I must say it helped me acquired new knowledge and improve my vocabulary and Im sure a lot of readers in the society can testify to this and being a writer has helped me achieve a lot of support from the government in regards to exporting and has given me a new path to be heard and want to be associated with

10. What is the next big thing for writers?

The next big thing for writers is exporting their ideas on a global scale aiming high to be heard and influential in the minds of people around them. The most beautiful thing for a writer is knowing how you book is transformational in the minds of a reader.
