AFRIFF – Africa International Film Festival, is a global film festival that brings filmmakers together from Africa and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event was founded by Nigerian entertainment executive, Chioma Ude in 2010. With 11 years of gathering, it is the biggest yearly gathering for African filmmakers. To also show off the coolest African films and stories. And also have a\u00a0 big celebration of creativity.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AFRIFF 12 was held from the 5th to the 11th of November, with a deliberate effort to encourage collaboration and healthy competition in the African film industry. It also encourages business among the industry’s entrepreneurs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreso, Filmmakers from over 150 countries submitted their narrative features, short films, animations, and documentaries to AFRIF, hoping that their films would be screened at the festival and the winners announced on the event’s<\/a> last day.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival includes training sessions covering various aspects of filmmaking, makeup, and art designing, and notable stars were duly honored during the event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oronto Douglas Best Feature Film: \u201cFunmilayo Ransom Kuti\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best International Feature: \u201cBrothers,\u201d Directed by Darkhan Tulegenov<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Award for Best Director: Ellie Foumbi, \u201cOur Father, The Devil\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Performance Male: Gregory Ojefua \u201cThis is Lagos\/Black Harvest\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Jury Prize: \u201cAll the Colours of the World\u201d and \u201cWhite Nanny Black Child\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best International Short Film: \u201cNzu\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Award for Best Animation: \u201cWhen Hearts Touch\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Student Short Film: \u201cMan and Masquerade\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Screenplay: Tunde Babalola – Funmilayo Ransom Kuti<\/p>\n\n\n\n
