]]>The Star acknowledged that she had avoided talking about retirement in the past, even when speaking with her husband.
On an account of an experience when my 5-Years old daughter was asked, what she wanted to be in future.
She echoed “I want to be a big sister” to an interactive robot app on her phone. Finally, it was obvious to me that I needed to make it a dream come through for her.
In her words, “I’ve been reluctant to admit that I have to move on from playing tennis. It’s like a taboo topic. It comes up, and I start to cry. I think the only person I’ve really gone there with is my therapist”.
in the interview, Serena Williams describes herself as a tough competitor, even on the court. She views the tennis court as a place where she can let all her concerns and problems go, feel like a beast, and score all her goals.
I always accompany my sister Venus to the court, and that motivated me . I was more fired up to take this as a career when someone called me a shadow of Venu, She said.
And using that as inspiration and showing herself that she is capable of anything, she went on to win 23 grand slams.
it is surpassing the grand slam count records held by Chris Evert, Martina Hingis, Selena Gomez, and Billie Jean King.
Serena Williams experienced a C-section, a pulmonary embolism, and a grand slam final while still nursing Olympia.
Her final goal was to surpass Margaret Court’s record of 24 grand slam victories, but she could not do so because of juggling parenthood and tennis.
If I said I didn’t want that record, I’d be lying. Of course, I do, but the fact that I showed up 23 times is all that mattered to me, she added.
Even while she valued making sacrifices, playing tennis frequently felt like one to her.
She acknowledged that her decision to retire, which she prefers to refer to as a “transition,” was not painless for her. But it must be completed.
She is eager to strike a balance between her family, Serna’s endeavors, and her business in the future.
Moving forward, she is looking forward to creating a balance between her business, Serna ventures, and her family.
This, is really a farewell, to one of the world’s most talented tennis players, Serena Williams.
