]]>We just had to see this movie, to get rushing with our review. This movie features Kelly Rowland who is the star actor.
This is the story of a murder defense attorney who agreed to defend a seductive artist Zyiar out of compassion. First with a motive of empathy, paying her bills, and trying to go against her husband’s family who truly despised her. When passion and strong desire came into the supposedly official relationship between her and her client, also attached to her nearly failed marriage. She fell for her client’s love spell (not literally). We may call it that.
Well, The twist comes when she pulled out of the case due to the sexual relationship with her client and went on a vacation. Which leads her to see the allegedly murdered victim. It was all a framed story. Before we get ahead. It’s a good place to chip in that this artist was framed for murder due to his toxic relationships with ladies.
Bold of Mea to assume she had been smitten by love. The movie ends with a complicated plot- Meas’ husband Carl, his brother. and his mum from the beginning had set up Zyair. To pay revenge for her sister and the artist Zyair, who cheated on Carl’s Brother. It was a sexual movie, filled with thrill and a lot of twists.
But our editors will be giving it a 7/10 rating. The seductive artist’s story just didn’t add up, how he could seduce women so easily. How controlling he was with his defense attorney and some little flops in the storyline too.
But it is a good movie to see. Tyler Perry’s movie also stars Trevante Rhodes, Sean Sagar, Nick Sagar, and RonReaco Lee.
Go see this movie and tell us what you think.

]]>This movie has quite a number of reviews both from Nigerians and Diasporans. With a Top 10 ranking on Netflix Naija and Netflix UK trending list;
It is expected we should speak highly of it. But our editors are giving their honest reviews.
First of all, we acknowledge the excellent scripting, storytelling, and directing by the crew.
Jagun Jagun was produced by the veteran actor Femi Adebayo, and directed by Tope Adebayo and Adebayo Tijjani.
The 2 hours 14 minutes film shares the story of a young boy Gbotija, who witnessed the painful death of his father- Lagbayi. After this painful incident by the wicked rulers of his community. Gbotija grew up to be a man who goes to any length to avenge.
Although Fierce and strong, he arrives at a warrior training ground to train more for his plan of revenge ahead.
The plot twist has it that the warlord of the said camp masterminded the series of invasions that led to his father’s death.
Everything was happening as he had expected, until a series of events led to his popularity, Also leading to envy from the warlord (Ogundiji) of the camp. This makes a great rivalry unfold.
Watch here
The props, lighting, and total cinematography of this movie were excellent. We expected shaky cinematography since the fighting scenes were so many but surprisingly were stable.
Apart from a crappy visual scene of a finger being butchered, at the beginning. Overall, we give this movie an 8/10.
Femi Adebayo delivered an excellently scripted and directed movie.

]]>The post Ini Edo Positions Akwa Ibom In New Netflix Original Series appeared first on Rededit Magazine.
]]>On the biggest viewing platform in the world today, with their most famous daughter, it’s hard to watch Shanty Town and not pause to Google what language Ini Edo and Nse Ikpe-Etim are speaking on the show or even Google their characters’ names to find out what they mean. As a proud Ibomite, Ini Edo is on a mission to position the richness of her culture on a global scale; that’s why as one of the producers of Shanty Town, she created strong Ibibio female characters to represent them and more importantly, to make young Ibomite women who watch the series know that they can achieve success like Ini.
Spoilers ahead…
Shanty Town is an ensemble series, assembling the biggest of Nollywood’s stars in Ini Edo, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Shaffy Bello, Chidi Mokeme, Nancy Isime, Uche Jombo, and Nse Ikpe-Etim. It helps that Ini and Nse play characters who are not the stereotypical damsels in distress or helpless playthings for male characters. Ini plays Inem, whose real name is Amanda and happens to be a surviving twin and undercover policewoman. She is able to infiltrate the Shanty Town – a community in Lagos controlled by a pimp and gangster called Scar played by Chidi Mokeme – because her identical twin sister once lived in the Shanty Town but succumbed to cancer unbeknownst to the community dwellers.
Nse Ikpe-Etim plays Ene, the pimp’s deputy. Even though she ranks higher than Inem in the community as the former is a pimp deputy and the latter is a prostitute, the Ibibio language frequently erases this hierarchy between them and the viewer can sometimes forget whom is senior to whom.
Ini Edo’s character, Inem, frequently challenges Scar and Ene without caring about the consequences. Imagine the impact that will have on a female Ibomite who watches the series! She’ll feel she can take charge in a male-dominated society and achieve her objectives and goals. Not to talk of when she finds out that in real-life Ini Edo was one of the producers! The sky will be her limit!
At the end of the series, justice prevailed within the Shanty Town as information Inem got led to the death of Scar and the arrest of his boss Chief DaCosta Fernandez played by Richard Mofe-Damijo.
In a state of just over 5 million people with more men than women. Akwa Ibom can add Shanty Town to its growing list of achievements.

year on a high with a stream of global and local investment options using Bamboo.
Remarkably, this isn’t the first time that actress and media personality Temi Otedola
has ventured into the tech world.
This ambassadorship announcement comes mere
months after the release of Temi Otedola’s latest Nollywood feature film – The Man
for the Job – on Amazon Prime Video, in which Otedola embodied the role of an IT
the genius within Lagos’s colorful and contemporary fintech era. A film directed by Niyi
Akinmolayan, whose passion for the fintech industry encouraged Otedola to dive
deep into the tech industry immersing herself in her character.
“I’m so often inspired by people who are doing big and bold things!” Temi says. “With
this Bamboo ambassadorship, I hope to encourage other Nigerian youth to take
independence in their investments and lead them to entrepreneurial success.”
Currently available in Nigeria and Ghana, Bamboo is an app dedicated to helping

]]>The post Ludik (Starring Arnold Vosloo) – A Review appeared first on Rededit Magazine.
]]>In this drama, Daan Ludik is a ‘successful’ entrepreneur who managed to build an empire from his furniture business. However, this is not the exact situation. We find out later that beyond the furniture business, Ludik was a criminal. He smuggled diamonds, but he managed to stay hidden for a long time. In fact, he was also a ‘family man.
His ‘peaceful businesses’ were doing just fine until a mafia found out that his hands were not clean. The mafia kidnaps a member of the family, keeping Ludik very busy trying to protect his family, his name, his business, and everything in between. He was forced by the mafia into using his business for more criminal activities. Expectedly, Ludik still sought ways to grow his business with all the crime he got into
Ludik may not be one of the dramas we tag ‘must watch’, nevertheless, it might interest many people. If you enjoy double-crossing, bloodshed, crime, etc., well, you might enjoy this drama. However, if you are like most of us that would rather see something else, then best of luck if you watch past the second episode.
Arguably, we sound biased already. That’s not what it is. The expertise involved in writing and producing this drama cannot be underestimated. The intelligence shines through clearly. Ludik is a drama that makes little effort to capture many audiences at once. We would still give it a 4.5 out of 10 stars.

]]>The post Justice Served (2022) Review appeared first on Rededit Magazine.
]]>The series is about an army veteran who killed a man. Having been on trial all the while, the day of the final verdict broke unexpected occurrences. A group of people called the Numooris invaded the courtroom, ready to take laws into their own hands. They are freedom fighters and are determined to allow the people to decide what the verdict would be. The leader and commander of the group is Azania Maqoma (played by Hlomla Dandala)
Maqoma gives the people the opportunity to vote within a particular time. Their votes will determine how justice would be served. The twist comes when some General takes over the case, following orders from top government officials. It gets more twisted when the result of the live votes turns out to be unexpected.
Justice served reveals the height of racism in present South Africa. The corruption of the government that is supposed to protect the citizens and their interests was also x-rayed. Furthermore, we see the effects of betrayal.
The series highlights the challenges faced by society and explores the different ways people can contribute to making society better.
Irrespective of the excitement that comes with watching the series, Justice Served feels too rushed. It left certain questions unanswered and even raised new questions in the process. Some characters were not well represented and a little tweak here and there would make it more explosive.
Overall it deserves a 3.5/5 rating.
You can watch the complete series on Netflix.
